Education Curriculum in Netherlands

A.    Philosophy of the Netherlands
            The Netherlands have a philosophy libelarisme state capitalism.
Libelarisme is an idea or a stream that starts on human freedom.
Capitalism is a misunderstanding to believe that the owners of capital can make efforts to achieve maximum profit.
Ideologi-liberal capitalism that respects human individuality, freedom / liberty and property rights over what dikembangkanya of nature (capital, capital, capitalism). Individual rights respected as an expression of personal freedom to develop in society and the state.
Dutch educational philosophy emphasis on quality education. It is born of innovation and creativity of the Dutch Government for the advancement of education, and support to the survival of the Earth.
B.  Purpose of Education
            The Netherlands also focus on the alleviation of the people who can not read and write. As a result, the Dutch community who could read and count very high. This is in line with the poverty rate and the unemployment rate in the Netherlands is very low. Unemployment is about 8.4% of 16,577,612 inhabitants.
Education in the Netherlands aimed at educating the nation the Netherlands and also scored the younger generation of intellect in all areas to become the nation's next good fit with liberalism and capitalism which they took as a foundation of the nation and the state.

            In general, the education system in the Netherlands can be categorized as follows:
1. Basic and advanced level of education ( Primary and Secondary Education )
2. Intermediate Vocational Education (Senior Secondary Vocational Education and Training )
3. Higher Education ( Higher Education )
Ø  Here's a description of each of the educational system:
1. Basic and advanced level of education ( Primary and Secondary Education )Basic Level Education
·      Mandatory since 5 years old
·      Lasts for approximately 8 years
·      In the final year, students are recommended to choose the advanced education that they would have secondary education
·      Starting from the 12-year-old students, and are required until the age of 16 years
v  Some Further Education Rankings
·      VMBO (4 year program) to provide education that is a combination of general and vocational education ( Senior Secondary Vocational and Training )
·      HAVO (5 years) and VWO (six years old) is a selective education. Two types of education that provides direct access to high-level education system (HigherEducation )
-          À VWO graduates can access directly to the University
-          À HAVO graduates can access directly to HBO ( Hogeschool / Universities of Professional Education )
            The last two years at HAVO / VWO last 3 years in the majors a year to choose a field of their choice. In this course, they can select one of the four majors as follows:
a. Science and Technology (Science Technology / Physics)
b. Science and Health (Health Sciences)
c. Economic and Society (Social Economy)
d. Culture and Society (Social Culture)
2. Intermediate Vocational Education ( Senior Secondary Vocational Educational and Training ) (MBO) - 4 years. Having bebrapa majors, namely economics, engineering, health, personal care, welfare and agriculture. MBO program is given in four levels (1-4 years) and just graduated from level 4 MBO who can have access to HBO ( Hogeschool )
3.    Higher Education ( Higher Education )
       The Netherlands is the country's first non-English offering courses in English. More than 1,000 international study programs in various fields offered by them. Curricula are intensive and have a higher level compared to other countries. Practice-oriented and designed to meet the needs and expectations of students seeking specialized knowledge. The courses alternate theory with practice in the real world of work or work simulation situation.

D.  School Management System
      Ministry of Education, Culture and Science is a department that is responsible for legislation pertaining to education.
     Students who study in public schools, religion, and neutral government-financed by the same budget where eligible. But basically pupils do not pay school, though school education may attract donations from parents.
    Private schools are funded foundation or the school itself. While public schools managed by local governments. The royal family usually enroll in public schools. Religious schools managed by a board that manages financing. Based on religion, there are Catholic schools, Protestant, Jewish, and Muslim, both in elementary school, secondary school, or college.
All of these schools, good public schools, specialized, private and are under the supervision of Inspectie van het Onerwijs (Education Inspection).
